i read stereogum cuz they have okay coverage of the stuff i'm into but i find all of their writers insufferable also i check the front page of pitchfork to see if any albums i care about have been released but pitchfork is generally horrible so i dont linger very long
i'd like a decent indie rock news site tbh one that covers music that doesnt suck and where the writers arent lame and pretentious with shitty taste

music writing is shit 90% of the time no, i don't about that the same rehashed billy-goating stoner metal that you just found out and you must post about because you have a quota to fill and conan won't release an album per week
also why do they have to describe the fuking song. "it starts slow and then it buildds up with a cello" thanks a billy-goating lot there john peel what about telling me something i can't figure out for myself here

that said i follow websites and blogs through facebook, i dont have the patience to go there every day. i used to track stereogum but there's only so much forced drama they can stretch through weeks worth of stale content that i can put up with so i unfollowed
i follow metalsucks though it's in the same vein. other decent metal blogs are the obelisk and steel for brains, and of course metalstorm
noisey is good to check out new music specially because they have great exclusive streams of stuff you don't know
check out npr first listen for streams too

I watch theneedledrop and I'm not ashamed. a lot of people find him insufferable but I'm fine with him. certainly better than pitchfork. spin magazine is sometimes okay but not really. yeah actually it all sucks. the only reason I ever check reviews is just to see if anything I want came out recently. does anyone ever find that some album reviews just flat-out don't make any f ucking sense? not only are the writers pretentious but every thing they publish is awkward as shit to read. I dare you to read this: pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/190-here-comes-the-indian/

I go to ultimate-guitar and I don't know why seeing that I don't look up tabs much. And the news is usually clickbait shit nowadays and the writing is bad. I go to see the comments because sometimes the users are funny and a better read than the article. I think it's a habit more than anything.

I watch theneedledrop and I'm not ashamed. same here, he has his quirks, but you get a more or less articulate and good review of almost every new album.
