hello non-bird (excuse potential bird discussion)
i have been watching a lot of movies in the past few years and i sometimes watch 1-2 a day (probably on average seven a week i guess)
initially i would pick out movies according to random things people suggested to me and then add them to a list, then watch them one after another but then i got into watching everything major by a certain director and then moving onto another. so far i did this with wes anderson, woody allen (i dont think i will ever see ALL of his movies but i picked the top 8 or so), and all of stanley kubrick's major films MINUS spartacus because that movie is long as hell. i also started w/ alfred hitchcock.
i am about to start up my next batch of 30 movies. there are some more from hitchcock but mostly martin scorsese, david lynch, john carpenter, paul thomas anderson, and the three (only three) steve mcqueen movies. they are as follows:
for context with hitchcock: i have seen rear window, vertigo, psycho, and rope. for scorsese, taxi driver and casino. i have seen some random john carpenter movies but i barely remember, including the thing and escape from NY so im rewatching those and then moving on. i have seen 0 PTA or lynch films but i have seen some random david lynch things (he also talked on a beefheart documentary, dincha know)
anyway this thread is for me to post about my shitty movie opinions. little by little i am going to rank these movies relative to each other and then once i finish a director i am going to rank those movies relative to each other. you guys can do the same if you would like!!!!! tell me which you have seen, like, or if you have recommendations for anything
