bizarre tiers imo id put royal tenenbaums and the shining higher also youe not missing too much from spartacus, its good if you like epics from that period but its not a kubrick essential id say. still good though. also im excited for you to watch there will be blood i'm also a lynch fan but i also think he is really shit. blue velvet was probably the best thing he did bar twin peaks but everything else is a rollercoaster ride of brilliant and terible sometimes both i hate having to say "except spartacus" when i say what kubrick films ive seen so one of these days i will put it on while im doing something else. i am not a person that likes "epics" necessary so good, at least i dont feel like a fool for being unmotivated i was far from in love with the shining. there is a lot of stuff i liked in it but eyes wide shut hit me a lot harder- i bet that has to do with all the details of the shining having been dulled down from culture ("here's johnny", "all work and no play", shelley duvall's weird face, the twins, etc) Have you seen room 237? It's a documentary that came out this past year on the shining. It's a fun watch, it's about all the hidden symbols and messages buried in the movie. Some of the theories are kinda nuts but I still found it pretty cool. You should check it out! It's on Netflix if you have it.

submarine is good and so is the soundtrack and so are the arctic monkeys, suck my billy-goat niki, suck my billy-goat all day long.
500 days of summer wasn't very memorable but it wasn't that bad, though it did try to be like a woody allen movie or something.
anyway I just watched a movie last night called Felon. that was really good. definitely the most honest and realistic portrayal of prison life I've ever seen. then I watched wonderland, about john holmes, that was pretty good too. not the best but worth watching for sure.
