you all need to listen to more electronic, rap and metal I find most electronic music boring, I'm pretty picky about rap, and I've tried to get into all kinds metal about 8 different times and I just don't get it.

I couldn't tell you everyone at this point, but I know I've tried leviathan a couple times, uhh peace sells but who's buying is pretty cool but I still don't think I've listened to the entire album, I also listened to some of seven churches by possessed which was fine but I'm not sure I'd ever buy it? I suspect I might get into some old school metal if I had someone to tell me where to start.
there have been a few more but basically everything I've listened to was kinda meh to me or I just found it flat out goofy.

I don't really know the different subgenres of metal very well, it all sounds pretty similar to me so I just go by what everyone else says

I don't really know the different subgenres of metal very well, it all sounds pretty similar to me so I just go by what everyone else says at first glance, it all does sound similar but they sound insanely different if you listen to enough of it I would say check out this video, then say which one appeals to you the most and I guarantee I would have something entry level for you to enjoy from one of those sub-genres

why does 'hard rock' seem to get called 'stoner metal' so often now? is that just something I've experienced or have you noticed it as well?
anyway, hit me up with summa that hard rock/heavy metal and groove metal dawg. if you have some plebeian entry level doom I'd be willing to give that a go again

Or American Heavy Metal like Venom or Dio (and Pantera for one album between their glam and groove era)? Suggestions: American British Now for Groove, there are two bands that usually come to mind, are Exhorder and Pantera since they both pioneered it. billy-goat I forgot about Doom, Candlemass is a good band to start out with Again, these are entry level bands for their respective genres. A good reason why people dislike Metal is because of the vocalists, but if you look past the bad ones you can sometimes find some good gems.

You don't need to listen to 80s metal to get into metal (even if 80s metal rules). Metal has gone new places since then
heres some doom/stoner ive been listening to this year

actually if you're talking about doom, the best bands to start with are black sabbath and pentagram, then reverend bizarre imo
just listen to black sabbath for every genre of metal since they pretty much invented it all
