win8, does what it does in an efficient enough manner with little upkeep, other than the odd glitch that takes days to find because troubleshooting is a joke

it also blows my mind that someone is willing to offer two billion dollars for a company who is essentially a one hit wonder

well that entirely depends on your principals yeah, for sure, my principle has always been trying what's comfortable and for programming and science doo doo - Unix(mac)/Linux have always been great in that: instant programming support in C/python, multitude of libraries for research etc i've been on a doo dooload of computer OSs: linux distros(Mint, Ubuntu, Debian, KDE, Arch, Gentoo), windows xp/vista/7, OSx(Leopard, Lion) also a lot of mobile OSs: windows phone, iOSx, android(using now), meego, maemo, symbian each system had it's cool doo doo

i mean, i'm not against mojang going to microsoft, microsoft will probably actually have the team work on another game simultaneously or something, maybe faster updates for minecraft itself. i just think it's pretty shitty when notch could let the person who's been keeping HIS game afloat for so long take over the company and still collect mad royalties off the game for the rest of his life, but he wants to cash out and potentially put the jobs of his team at risk so he can retire.
like, i doubt microsoft will fire any of the minecraft team, but once they own the company they CAN, and weirder things have definitely happened in the gaming industry
