Was reading the second book of song of fire and ice but stopped. I'll probably have to start over.

I am reading Hawking's Brief History of Time right now its cool and interesting. He's a good science explainer and it's written for laypeople but there's still some shit that even I can't follow yeah, Hawking is insanely good with that, we only have a few professors in our institute who are capable of explaining with such simplicity and clarity.

Check out The Collector by Jown Fowles, a captivating book that's also fairly short and painless in its prose.

There are tons of novels considered to be classics that I've never read but would like to. What are some recommendations before I scour Google

I'm reading I Am Legend. The main story was pretty good. It was really nothing like the movie at all. The other short stories in it are very hit and miss imo. Some of them are really billy-goating weird and uncomfortable. I love Richard Matheson and I was very sad when he died. 7 Steps to Midnight is a really fun read. I'm kind of torn about Hell House though. There were some rad scenes in that book that really did spook me, but others were a little awkward and tedious to read. Anyway right now I'm reading The Devil All the Time by Donald Ray Pollock. He wrote a short story book a few years ago called Knockemstiff that I definitely recommend if you like southern gothic stuff. They all take place in a town in Ohio that the book is named after. The Devil All the Time is in the same vein and so far just as awesome.
