hey so what if we had a thread where we talked about all the pleasant ass video games we played. every MONTH i would just make a new thread so it doesnt become a huge mess and you post which games youve been playing, what you think about them, etc
it's more for your personal experience and reviews and not really for news or anything. remember when we had a review forum? those were the days
also i could like, put a poll on every thread for us to vote in. give ideas itt about what the video game related question of the week could be. like the one i have here

i have been playing: yoshi's island-nintendo club is ending so i have to spend my coins. i still have a few hundred left (and plat status) but i got yoshi's island. it is a really great well made game but im pretty tired of two dimensional platformers at this point. even a lot of the stuff on the eshop that is apparently great (shovel knight, shantae thing?) are two dimensional platformers. i dont doubt their quality but damn man, i want something else good path of exile-
path of exile is a free to play action rpg that is more similar to diablo 2 than diablo 3 is to diablo 2. i love it. ive played 1000+ hours in it, the game is insanely deep and you micromanage nearly everything. the passive skill tree (link) is a giant web of little adjustments. pathing your character around it to reach the big keystones is important, and theres a lot of optimization. the character im running now is utilizing the "avatar of fire" keystone, which converts half of all damage to fire but you dont do any non-fire damage. that sounds like crap but mathematically- you can increase your physical damage, convert it to fire, then increase fire damage. im also using 2 skills that convert half of its damage naturally to fire so im actually not losing any damage and also double-dipping on the increases. it's a tanky build because im tired of dying as spellcasters. if you like diablo i really recommend the game, it is FREE. there are microtransactions but theyre all cosmetic and fairly tasteful. not gaudy korean shit. it is FREEEEEEEEEEEEE on steam. tell me if youre interested and i can give you tips, get you going, give some leveling items, or even level a character with you. i love the game team fortress 2- we used to play tf2 a lot together and i've/we've been doing it more recently. i like playing scoot and pyoro fallout 3-due to the way the character leveling system works, you can literally have maximum stats in everything. i love fallout 3 and i figured out an efficient way to max my character and get a bunch of good perks too (link to pic of my spreadsheet, trigger warning: autism)i just hit level 20. i have the goty version so this is really easy. they didnt design the game with 10 more levels in mind, i swear. that's why you only get to pick a perk every other level in new vegas or something, right? i didnt play new vegas much. i might tackle that next, but i need the goty version and to plan more carefully metal gear solid V: GZ-
i'm a huge metal gear solid fan and ive been getting really hyped for september when TPP comes out. ive just be toying around in ground zeroes because the gameplay is fun. do any of you like MGS? i know spastic does and tempest a bit but idk who else here is excited smash 4-
i need to play more. i play dedede and pikachu mainly. also pit/dark pit, ZSS, and ive been playing villager a lot

i've been playing pokemon ruby and besiege what starter did you pick, whats your team, etc mudkip + breloom OP my fav team is usually without the starter, but atm i have marshtomp, altaria, metagross and zangoose with max speed and attack ev's and obviously breloom, the last one is disposable i really want to play more x&y, maybe make an actual team and battle online, but ruby is so laidback and quick to play that I don't wanna also i was actually playing a bit of yoshi's island last week: i found out that I could connect my wiimotes to the laptop and use them in openemu

I'll recap what I played last week if that's okay Donkey Kong Country Returns - My special friend and I like to play co-op games together and this was a great one. I like that Donkey Kong (me) can carry Diddy Kong (her) for a particular section if it was too difficult for one person. I didn't like that nearly a quarter of the levels could only strictly be played by one player, such as in the screenshot example. (You fly a rocket, get hit once you lose two lives!) We pretty much finished this game yesterday, except for single-player content including time trials and mirror mode (i.e. hard mode with no Diddy Kong) Diddy's Kong Quest - We liked Donkey Kong so much that we wanted to play the classic (never played them) before hopping onto Tropical Freeze. To save time I opted to play just the most highly regarded title, perhaps for now. I guess I didn't like that we can't play both Diddy and Dixie Kongs simultaneously, but I do like the tag team aspect of this game's co-op. One reason is that the level doesn't necessarily restart if when one player dies. We're playing with Wiimotes (no nunchuks allowed). The Wii U Virtual Console is pretty cool in that you can customize your controller's button mappings. I figured out an optimal layout except I'm currently stumped on whether to assign the Wiimote's button B to the SNES controller's X (lets you dismount animal) or L/R (lets the spider shoot web). I'm waiting to see how important the spider's L/R function would be. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - I liked the first one and I wanted more levels, which this one is very good at. But I don't like the lack of Rosalina, she was cool. The last time I played it, sunlight was confusing my controller so that kind of sucked but at least it doesn't affect the game as badly as when I was trying to play Metroid Prime Animal Crossing and Pokemon Shuffle - Just for something to do during travel time. So next week I'll probably keep playing Super Mario Galaxy 2. If I finish that I'd move on to Metroid Prime 2 (I already finished 1). Looks like I just want to catch up on the Wii games I missed.

I've been playing Dragonball z xenoverse how are you liking it? did you play the other fight-y dbz games? say more than that cmon i played a few of the early ones. Not sure which one I played last. I quite enjoy it to be honest. Though, it has some flaws, which all games do. As a DBZ fighting game its awesome, but it probably wouldnt stand on its own as just a "fighting game". I think the abilities need to be balanced a bit somehow, makes online pvp a bit unfair. I love Metal Gear Solid and cannot wait for The Phantom Pain. I quite love Ground Zeroes as well, bought it a couple months ago when it was on sale. PC port is damn near flawless. Haven't played TF2 in quite a while. Oh and I was playing Majora's Mask 3D but took a break. Playing on the 3DS kills my hands.
