dark souls 2 is ironically rather soulless. its a shitty shadow of its predecessor made from a team that didn't have the same director so they tried their best and whatta y'know it was found wanting i will say that pvp is better though Ah I didn't know it was a different director. Thanks for the heads up

sequels have a habit of improving visuals and performance but losing the elements that made the first game so cohesive and enjoyable so you're cursed into either trying to play a good game that feels outdated or a mediocre game that feels fresh

i agree with the first part of your statement but i dont mind playing old pokemon games, fallout 3 instead of NV, morrowind instead of oblivion/skyrim, and though i was never into it people played the hell out of counterstrike 1.6 when CS:S seemed superior in every way

cs:s is still the most fun in my opinion. but I play cs:go now cause it's competitive and climbing gives you more incentive to play I guess

Bloodborne is everything I've ever wanted. I don't even consider Dark Souls 2 a proper sequel anymore. It's more like a shadowed imitation of both Dark Souls and Bloodborne (BB was in development the same time as Dark Souls 2).
There are a few enemies and encounters in Dark Souls 2 that are similar in Bloodborne. Skeleton Kings and Shadows of Yharnam for one example, except that SoY are designed way better and more interestingly than the Skeleton Kings. There's those cloaked brick troll enemies in BB that remind me of the bandaged scythe wielders in the Bastille in DS2. Really just adds to my distaste for DS2. It cannot be understated.
A reason I had so many hours in Dark Souls is from making new characters all the time. All the fukkin' time. I've so far made 5 characters, and I get farther and farther, faster and faster each time. I'm about to make my 6th, and I'll tell u why:
I'm really excited to use a certain Katana weapon. However, I'm just before the area where you're supposed to find it and my current character build is not really set up to make use of it for a while. I'm not too high of a level - I could just pump points into my character and make it viable, but that's not how I work. So, I'm going to use my current character to feel out the zone I need to go through to get that weapon, and get used to it so that when I create my new guy dedicated to this weapon I can Beeline all the way there as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Now you're probably like "wtf laps" but I don't care. This is the shit that drives me to this game. Knowing isn't just half the battle, it's your most powerful weapon.

besides binding of isaac: rebirth and hearthstone, which are my go-to games, ive recently played the second act of broken age and am currently starting a heroes of might and magic marathon, ive made threads for both of those so no need to repeat
playing broken age has rekindled my love for point and click games so i've "acquired" (still broke, sorry) the Deponia trilogy, will report when im done with at least the first of the series
as for rebirth... those who don't know, it's a legend of zelda meets roguelike kinda game that is the perfect blend of skill-based (has bullet-dodge, forward planning and requires acumulation of knowledge and experience) and casual (40 minute runs, you can play once a day like i do). it's great as a stress relief.
hearthstone is hearthstone. i'm done with the first wing of blackrock and im grinding the daily quests for the second.

also i dont really watch VG streams except if there's a tournament or something
id watch if the caster is actually entertaining but seeing as 99% of LPs are boring for me i dont think streams could do better

I have rebirth and enjoy it when I play. I played the original via newgrounds and on steam and rebirth is so worth it.
I uninstalled hearthstone because I never played it.

I haven't played rebirth but I do have BoI on steam - I suck at those games, mostly because I'm not great at bullet dodging.

Whose your favorite character to play as i like even tho hes technically "worse" than the other characters i just like the fact that if you got a bad run you'll probably realise it and die quicker than characters who start off with red hearts ALSO soul hearts are arguably better than red hearts anyway, especially if you get the whore of babylon effect from a devil room
