i bought the MB, GPU's, RAM and CPU from my cousin. it's a little dated now, but unreal a couple of years ago. it still does every game ive ever thrown at it at 60FPS

what how would you even know every game you threw at it ran at 60fps if your display is set to 30hz?

FRAPS tells me i'm running at 60, even if thats not what i;m seeing. LA noire and max payne 3 both run at 60 just fine.

you should go into your settings and change your resolution to 1920x1080@60hz. Using your regular desktop at 30hz is really choppy.
and are you running things at max settings then? i know max payne puts a limit on settings based on VRAM and since youve only got 1gb of VRAM you shouldn't really be able to push the game too ridiculously as a result

OK so I may have lied about la noire, I capped that at 30 fps because it doesn't need 60, but it's never dropped below that. It's also badly optimised.

There isn't an option for 60hz either. It's a pretty crap TV. I blew all my money getting the computer. I hope to buy a proper monitor soon.

2gb of vram, it's got sli remember. that's not how sli works. if you have two cards at 1gb of VRAM in SLI the VRAM has to be mirrored on both cards for them to actively work together. you've got 1gb of VRAM.
