just out of interest is there a set number when a group of people become enough to qualify as a mass revelation? because there are (disputable) cases where the virgin mary revealed herself to up to 100 or so people good question. i'm not sure. I know 600,000 is supposed to refer to the whole nation of israel at that time, meaning those who left egypt. Still, that's a good question which I'll ask around. Also, what instance are you talking about? 100 people watched god bang her or what? nah she came down to earth and had a chat, then gave some kids the words to a new prayer

nothing that science can ever state will ever be actually against religion. not that some weirdos wont see it otherwise but the two play in completely different fields wrong unless you're a crazy deist like "something is there but we can't define it" which is the same as saying absolutely nothing because it has no bearing on anything anything beyond "I believe something irrelevant exists" will eventually clash with science, as it has been proven time and time again in the past, because going beyond deism is making claims about the actual world and that is the domain of science

i mean you can believe spirits come out at night and touch you in your special place all you want, I don't care, but don't pretend that that doesn't clash with the scientific assertion that uncle bob is quite the eager beaver once he's off his meds

religion has the feel-good, "here's how to live your life" parts and then the "gods and spirits are actually physically messing with the world" parts
science has a problem with the latter
religious people try to hide the latter in the former because they know this (either consciously or indirectly)
