hey billy-goat you jewy answer my damn question why its a commandment is not entirely clear. theres a category of commandments that are given that we just dont understand WHY they would be given, but we still go along with them. people have their theories, and i think its usually to do with separating ourselves from the other cultures around us.

Jewy I don't know if I should take you serious or not. And what I also meant to say or mention is the fact of science (gasp!). After taking a biology course it seemed to alter my views on the subject science? what is that? nah, i kid. its clear that when a brother and sister have sex, you get something like niki. There was a neuroscientist who spoke at my yeshiva a while ago, and someone asked him "how do you live as an observant jew and a scientist? don't the two contradict each other?" and the guy responded, "look, i know a lot of people have this sort of view, but we had some doctors banquet a few months ago and 20 of us ordered the kosher meal." Both studies, science and theology, are explaining the same thing, just through different lenses. the bible is also riddled with morality which is irrelevant to science. but here's the thing, you can either bother yourself with the historicity of whether or not every little thing happened as its written in the book, or you can look for the benefit of understanding the deeper meaning within the stories, the lessons to be learned. feel free to study the sciences all you want. you're just studying gods creation on a different level.

of course science makes sense. science makes sense because it makes sense and it's based on empirical facts. dont let the doubts overwhelm you, god is out there. this has nothing to do with science. if you could prove god with science it wouldnt be god you pretty much said what i would say on this.

maybe we just cant see god for what he is because satan thrives in our soul and blindens us to the truth that is the lord

if you could prove god with science it wouldnt be god why the billy-goat not if there's a real creator of the universe then why is the only knowledge about it limited to a few alleged sightings from a few barbaric billy-goatasses from thousands of years ago sounds like you're just trying to dodge accountability

the "deeper meaning of the stories" only matters as much as harry potter if the 'supernatural' doesnt actually exist

satan seems like a way more caring and all around good guy than god I have heard that science and religion go hand in hand and it's pretty much the same thing through different lenses, but if that's the case then why are there different views on certain things. As someone who has read part of the bible it doesn't make mention of say... the universe constantly expanding. I know they didn't have the stuff to know that or find it out on their own, but wouldn't you think God weighs inform john, Luke, Matthew, Etc? He should know that right? Why would he keep that from us. Or is that to be counteracted by the fact he gave humans the ability to come up with the technology needed to see the universe is constantly expanding?
